Market Your App:

Create and optimize your website

Developing an app is a step in the right direction for providing your candidates with a great online experience. It is important to make sure that your website aligns with your app. Ensure that your website is up to date with your brand standards and that it is optimized for a mobile experience.

Creating a landing page

Take some time with your team to consider creating a separate landing page that promotes your app. Show your candidates what the benefits are if they download your app!

Make a pop-up on your mobile site

Make the most out of optimizing the mobile site and let visitors know that you have a new app that they can download by creating pop-ups on certain pages on your mobile site. Make sure that it appears on certain pages with high volume traffic for viewership and pages that perform functions the app is meant to improve, such as the job search page. Try not to limit functionality on your mobile site, as it won’t be the best user experience. It should remind users of the app’s existence when it’s most relevant to them.

Sending out campaign emails

We suggest crafting up an email campaign that announces your app release and an outline of the benefits that the app can provide. Your campaign email should be the anchor for your overall launch campaign that drives traffic to your landing page. Utilize social media. This includes blogs that can explore in more detail how your app will benefit your candidates.

Develop print materials

If you have a lot of foot traffic coming into your office, consider having a one-pager that explains the app and how to download it. Make sure that the reading material is relevant to the candidates and explains not only the functions of the app but how it makes people’s lives easier. You could also consider direct mailing it as well.

Alert the Media!

Find local or specialized journalists, even tech writers who are actively covering the staffing industry, technology, or ideally, a mixture of both. If your solution is offering something unique and compelling, consider crafting a press release and reach out to the public.

Brand it well

Always consider how your brand translates to different forms of media. For an app, you want a logo that is recognizable so people trust it enough to want to download the app.

Make use of internal opportunities and channels:

Add it to your email signature

Email signatures are often overlooked, however can be very powerful when marketing something new. Include a brief We got an app! messaging line with a link to your landing page with more information.

Tip: Be careful about using high resolution images as part of your email signature. It may cause issues for people that have slow internet connections.

Add it to your voicemail

Make sure to cover all lines of communication that your agency has, including voicemails. You can use similar messaging as you would in a print flyer for your agency’s voicemail. It’s important to let people know that you have an app and tell them where they can find more information.

Incentivize People

Consider an internal contest that rewards recruiters who get their candidates using the app. Or, simply incentivize the candidates themselves.

Ask for Reviews

Reviews will affect the rating of your apps in the appstore. It’s also a great insight into new people who are looking to download the app. Encourage your users to review your app and make it a part of your incentivizing plan.

Don’t Forget the End User:

Have Training Guides

When you roll out an app, it’s important that you set everyone up for success to use it. This includes your recruiters, candidates, and end clients. Make sure that your guides are clear and lays out the functionality of the app, how to use it, and its benefits.

Pay Attention to Metrics

You always want to check in to see how people are using your app.

  1. The end user is your motivation.

  2. The number of installs, opens and uninstalls will have an affect on the ranking of your app in the appstore.

Always iterate

Now comes our job. Give us your feedback! We want to know how people are using the app and what they are saying about it. User experience is our obsession so the more feedback for us, the better!
